The Doctor's Kitchen Australia is Australia's only medically prescribed weight loss meals for fat loss and metabolic health and has announced its ground breaking move across the country to make this program available to people living in Perth, Western Australia through the preventative focussed medical clinic, Cellf Solutions.

Recently, The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia announced its landmark partnership with Australia’s premier ready-made meal manufacturer, Youfoodz to make the Doctor prescribed weight loss meal plans to deliver better health to all Australians.

Dr Phillip Wuth

“The availability of the Doctor’s prescribed weight loss meal program through Cellf Solutions brings exponential opportunities for us to have a positive influence on the health and lifestyle of people in Western Australia in a very unique and preventative way through a general practitioner. This collaboration means that people in Perth will now be able to get access to this life changing program, to optimise and gain health, not just lose weight through their local doctor” Australian Doctor and Founder of The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia, Dr Phillip Wuth.

Dr Aparna Hedge, a local Perth-based GP with Cellf Solutions is the first in Western Australia to make this unique Doctor-led program available to patients to help transform their weight and life. Dr Hedge holds a special interest in weight loss and hormonal disturbances such as thyroid disorders and menopause and completed her training with the Australasian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine (A5M).

“While weight is an important health indicator, we don’t just want our patients to be lighter, we want them to be healthier for the rest of their life.” Dr Wuth said.

This unique Doctor-led program which is carried out by participating GPs gives doctors:

  • the ability to reliably measure and monitor a person’s body composition and biometrics,
  • the option to specifically prescribe a meal plan for the individual, based on their body composition information, and
  • an opportunity to help guide people through long-term lifestyle change, so they can enjoy the benefits of better health, not just weight loss alone.

The Doctor prescribed weight loss meal plan for fat loss

“Excess body fat is associated with significant risk of metabolic diseases like diabetes and GPs can now  scales can better understand a patient’s overall health and recommend a calorie intake that will see them drop their fat,” Dr Wuth said.

Rather than tracking your health through tape measures and ordinary scales, progress is measured through a your individual biometrics and body composition results.

Unlike ordinary scales that record only body weight, the Doctor's prescribed program incorporates bio-impedance scales to measure patients which provides additional data such as body fat, abdominal fat, muscle mass and basal metabolic rate (BMR) (the number of calories your body burns at rest).

“New research has found that these are the numbers that matter and can be the key to losing weight and keeping it off.” Dr Wuth said.

Ready-to-eat calorie controlled meals based on a patient’s body composition are recommended by the Doctor and sent to the patient each week.

“The key is to eat fewer calories than you expend and monitor your vital stats like your body fat and muscle mass,” Dr Wuth said.

It is recommended that patients begin on the calorie controlled meals five days a week and prepare their own meals for two days of the week.

What are the doctor's secrets to lasting weight loss?

* Track all of your vital statistics including weight, body mass index and muscle mass. You can do this with special composition scales.
* Figure out how many calories you should be eating per day and follow that plan as strictly as possible.
* Learn to listen to hunger cues, and you might notice you don't need to snack as much and as often.
* Find an exercise plan you can stick to, set aside the time in your diary and build it up slowly.
* Keep your protein intake high to encourage fat burn, but also allow you to stay full.
