The Doc’s weight loss meal plans is a subscription

The Doc’s weight loss meal plans are based on a subscription.

Once you have placed your initial order, every week following you will receive the meal options you have selected (e.g. breakfast, lunch or dinner or a variation of these) from the current week’s menu, unless you modify your subscription by the cut off time.

There is no minimum term, so you can cancel at any time. You can modify your subscription for the Doc’s weight loss meal plans by the cut off time.

The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia operates on a four (4) week rotating menu. The relevant week’s menu will be displayed on the website at the time of ordering. The complete four (4) week menu will be available for you to download at the time of ordering.

Which of the Doc’s menus should I choose for my weight loss meals?

We are also unique when compared to other meal providers in Australia in that we accommodate a complete gluten free, dairy free, vegan, pescatarian, vegetarian menu, and soon to be included a Mediterranean menu, that can be tailored to individual requirements (ie. calories / portion).

Once you have been prescribed a calorie intake by your Doctor, you can select a menu that suits you and your individual preferences.

Why are the Doc’s weight loss meals plans only 5 days?

The Doc’s weight loss meal plans are not intended to be a long term meal replacement plan. It is intended to be a short to medium term educational service with professional guidance so that people can start to live, eat and experience appropriate portion controlled and nutritionally complete food on a daily basis.

We generally provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for 5 out of 7 days to encourage you to start putting into practice from the very first week what you have been seeing, eating and living on the previous 5 days with the Doc’s weight loss meals. We have found that encouraging the changing of behaviours in this way and getting you to do it on your own for at least 2 days a week has significantly contributed to the success of our patients losing the fat and keeping it off in the long term.

Why are the Doc’s weight loss meal plans set?

The weight loss meals are based on the total amount of calories that you Doctor has been prescribed. Changing meals within the set weight loss plans as displayed online will impact the calorie intake per day. For this reason, and to ensure that we deliver what your Doctor has prescribed, it is not possible to change meals within the set weight loss meal plans.

Can I swap meals around in the Doc’s weight loss meal plans?

Each day of the Doc’s weight loss meal plans is based on the total number of calories prescribed by your Doctor. So, if it suits you to eat your dinner meal at lunch time and your lunch meal in the evening, that’s okay with our Docs.

What if I order less than three meals a day or snacks?

The total number of calories is based on ordering 3 meals a day (i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner) and snacks (if required).

If you order less than 3 meals a day or if you leave out snacks where required, you will need to make up these calories using your own food. We also recommend that you track your calories to ensure that you don’t exceed the number of calories as prescribed because it will impact on the progress and success of your weight loss and or health goals.

How much weight will I lose?

 Everyone loses weight at different rates depending on their age, gender, weight and level of exercise. Healthy, long term fat loss is achieved when you lose from 0.5 to 1 kilogram per week. This is what our plans are aimed at achieving. We recommend regular exercise and in particular strength training with the help of an exercise physiologist or personal trainer to help achieve and maintain fat loss.

What is the importance of checking in with the Doctor while on the Doc’s weight loss meals? 

Our Doctors measure and closely monitor your body fat loss and muscle mass to help boost your metabolism and achieve your optimum health outcomes.

The success of your fat loss or achieving your health goals, relies on you checking in with our Doctors at least once a fortnight.  The frequency pf reviews sometimes changes depending on your Doctor’s recommendation. At each consult, our Doctors will monitor your body fat, metabolic rate, and muscle mass so that you burn maximal amounts of fat, and improve your metabolism without compromising your lean muscle. 

Why is it important to begin an appropriate strength training program?

Our Docs are focused on dropping your body fat and visceral fat, while importantly doing their utmost to help you maintain your muscle for metabolic health. Maintaining your lean muscle mass is vital for weight loss because as your muscle mass increases, the rate at which you burn calories increases which is reflected in an increase in your basal metabolic rate (BMR).  This process helps you reduce excess body fat levels and lose weight in a healthy way and importantly keep it off for the long term.

Strength training is important for fat loss because leanmuscle helps you burnmore calories. The more muscle you have the higher your metabolism.

How much does it cost to begin the Doc’s weight loss meals?

The initial cost is your chosen Doctor’s initial consultation. We recommend that you enquire with the individual medical practice of your preferred Doctor for their list of fees. You may also be eligible for a Medicare rebate on the cost of the consultation.

Following Each meal is $10 (snacks are extra and part of all 1500 calorie and 1600 calorie weight loss meal plans and only if prescribed by your Doctor).

You can choose to have your weight loss meals delivered to you or you can opt to collect it from one of our local pick up locations for $4 per box.


Our Doctors are proud to be able to deliver our meals in a completely biodegradable box. That’s zero waste!

The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia and our team of Doctors are committed to looking after our earth. After all, it produces all those wholesome and nourishing ingredients in your boxes that are so critical for our health.

Can I recycle the Doc’s Box?

The cardboard box is curb side recyclable. The PLA insulator can be repurposed for your own usage, but is also completely biodegradable. It’s all part of the focus of our Doctors to making our planet more sustainable for everyone.

The gel ice pack can be repurposed for your own usage, but can also be safely disposed.


How long will the Doc’s meals last?

 The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia meals have an average shelf life of five to nine days in the fridge. We recommend eating any meals with fish within the first five days.

Always check the Use By date before consumption.

How do the Doc’s meals stay fresh?

The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia sources the freshest seasonal produce that is cooked, packaged and delivered to you.

We seal our meals using "Modified Atmosphere Packaging". Like vacuum sealing, this process removes oxygen from the meals and allows the product to stay fresh naturally for as long as possible.

Can I freeze the Doc’s meals?

We offer fresh meals to ensure we present the best possible quality of food. Our meals can be frozen and will last for up to three months safely when frozen below -10 degrees Celsius. All meals must be placed in the freezer before expiry date.

Doc note: Freezing will affect the quality of some meals, but not their safety.

What if I have a food allergy? 

Our chefs take the highest level of care to ensure that allergy prone ingredients are out of certain meals. However, If you have an anaphylactic reaction to any ingredients used in any of our products we unfortunately are unable to accomodate your order.

We recommend checking the ingredient list for each meal thoroughly before consumption. Please contact The Doctor’s Kitchen Australia if you are still unsure.

Will I receive exactly what is set out in the images?

The Doc’s meals are packed and portioned according to weight, which means the quantity/pieces may vary to the images.

 Can I eat the Doc’s meals if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We recommend that you consult with a medical professional or medical specialist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, before commencing any of the Doc’s meals or products. 

Are all of the Doc’s weight loss meal plans delivered on the same day?

Yes! All of your meals will be packaged in our refrigerated box and delivered at the same time. You should refrigerate your meals upon arrival, and can even freeze the meals to extend the shelf life (though we recommend eating them fresh). 

What does the Use By Date mean?

 Your meal must be eaten by the Use By Date. We intentionally label our salads and fresh components with use-by dates that correspond with the assigned day from your menu.


What week am I ordering from?

The week that we are taking orders for is listed on the site of our website. So, if you place an order by the cut off time, you’ll receive an order for that week.

When do I have to order by and when is delivery?

At present, you must place your order by 11.59PM Sunday night for delivery Friday for all Queensland delivery locations.  

The Doc’s Clean Eating Meal Plan – Mix & Match or the Doc’s recommended set meal plan

Simply browse the Doc’s menus.  You can mix and match by adding individual meals (e.g. mix and match) or take up the Doc’s recommended set meal and add it to your shopping cart.  Head to the checkout when you’re ready – you can purchase with a credit card.

 If you pick and choose your meals, this will not be on a subscription. It will only be a once off order. 

If you select the Doc's recommended set menu, this will be on a subscription basis. You can manage your subscription including cancelling this anytime before the cut off time of 11.59PM Sunday night. 

How do I order meals from the following week’s Clean Eating Meal Plan?

If you have purchased individual meals by mixing and matching, you’ll need to place a new order for meals from the following week’s Clean Eating Meal Plan by the cut off time.

If you have purchased the Doc’s recommended Clean Eating Meal Plan without any changes, another order will be placed for you for the following meals based on your meal selection from the prior week.

Can I change or modify my subscription to the Doc’s weight loss meal plan?

Yes! You can modify your subscription for the Doc’s weight loss meal plans by the cut off time. You are in control of your subscription and account.

How will I be charged for the Doc’s weight loss meals plans?

You’ll be charged weekly, and you can choose to skip a week or cancel your subscription at any time before your weekly deadline of 11.59PM Sunday night. 


Which of the Doc’s meal plans are based on a subscription?

All of the Doc’s Weight Loss Meal Plans, Family Dinners and the Doc’s Clean Eating - Set Menu meal plans are based on a subscription. This means that another order of your selected meal options (e.g. breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be placed for you for the following week’s menu plan unless you modify your order by the cut off time.

 How do I set up a subscription?

Using the website, place an order as normal. The Doc's Weight Loss Meals, Family dinners and Clean Eating Meals - Set Menu are based on a subscription and will automatically continue unless you cancel or suspend it by the cut off time indicated on our website. 

How to modify a subscription?

 Once your recurring order has been set up, you can modify it at any time before the cut off by logging into your account. Once logged in, you’ll see a ‘Manage recurring order’ link under ‘My account’ in the header menu. Or you can view your order history - your current recurring order will be front and centre, and you can follow the prompts to update the delivery date, or add or remove menu items.

When does payment come out?

Your payment will be processed at 11.59PM every Sunday night.

How do I change my bank card details for the recurring order?

You will need to cancel your current recurring order and place a new order using your new card. 

What happens if an item on my recurring order is no longer available? 

When a meal is removed from the Doc’s menu plan, we will automatically replace it with a similar meal.

How long do I have to edit the order?

Your order can be updated any time before the cut off time. The cut of times for delivery to Queensland, NSW and Victoria is 12 midnight every Sunday night. Cut off times vary for different delivery zones - you will receive an email reminding you of your upcoming order. At the bottom of that email you’ll be able to see the cut off date for your setup.

What happens if my payment fails?

Your order will not be processed and you will receive an email notification letting you know your payment has failed. You will need to create yourself a new recurring order to reinstate this.

How do I change the delivery address on a recurring order?

Unfortunately, our current system can’t update the delivery address on an existing recurring order. You will have to cancel your order and create a new one with the updated delivery address.

How do I cancel my recurring order? 

To cancel your order, log into your account and head to My Account where you will see “Manage Recurring Orders”. You will then be able to select "Cancel Recurring Order". You will need to make sure this is done within your modification period before the order begins processing.
